Today marks the day when a fledgling group of businessmen, lawyers, doctors, and inventors set in motion one of the greatest experiments in human history.The number 13 is our number of the day. It was on July 2, 1776 that representatives group gathered in Philadelphia to begin the process of determining the fate of the 13 colonies. It was on this day that they resolved “these United Colonies are, and of right ought to be, free and independent States”. How this would be done and agreed to would occur over the next few days.
