It was 47 years ago today when riots occurred after a raid onthe Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village in NYC. This event led Craig Rodwell, Fred Sargeant, Ellen Broidy, and Linda Rhodes to propose the first Gay Pride Parade later that year. The following year in 1970, the first parade was held in NYC.
